• Inspect incoming raw materials (MDF, plywood, solid timber, veneers, laminates, hardware) against approved submittals and purchase specifications.
• Conduct in-process quality checks throughout workshop fabrication: cutting, edging, assembly, laminating, finishing, and hardware installation.
• Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of all completed joinery items before dispatch to site; document findings and approve or reject items.
• Carry out on-site installation quality inspections: verify dimensions, level, plumb, finish quality, alignment, and hardware operation.
• Raise and document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs); follow up corrective actions and verify rectification before close-out.
• Maintain quality inspection records, photographic documentation, and inspection checklists for all joinery works.
• Ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, material specifications, mock-up approvals, and contract quality requirements.
• Liaise with clients and consultants during joint inspections and ensure all comments are recorded and actioned.
• Assist in developing and improving internal quality inspection procedures for the workshop and site.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Wood Technology, Interior Design, or related field.
• 5–9 years of quality control experience in a UAE/GCC joinery workshop or fit-out contracting company.
• Deep practical knowledge of joinery fabrication techniques, surface finishing, and hardware installation standards.
• Ability to read and interpret joinery shop drawings and material/finish schedules.
• Strong attention to detail; systematic and methodical approach to quality inspection and documentation.
• ISO 9001 awareness or internal QC auditing experience is an advantage.
Estimation Engineer – Joinery

The Estimation Engineer – Joinery is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions for custom joinery and millwork projects. This commercially critical role analyses tender documents, generates detailed material and labour takeoffs, and compiles bid packages that win profitable contracts for JW SPACE.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyse tender drawings, specifications, and scope documents to develop detailed joinery cost estimates.
• Produce comprehensive material takeoffs for all joinery items: boards, veneers, laminates, solid timber, hardware, glass, and finishing materials.
• Prepare labour and workshop production cost estimates based on joinery types, complexity, and fabrication hours.
• Solicit, compare, and tabulate supplier and subcontractor quotations for materials and specialist finishes.
• Develop final bid pricing with appropriate allowances for overheads, risk, waste, and profit margins.
• Review tender documents for scope gaps, ambiguities, and risk items; prepare pre-bid queries for clarification.
• Participate in tender review, value engineering, and bid strategy discussions with senior management.
• Prepare handover documents for awarded projects including cost plans, BOQ, and procurement lists.
• Maintain and update joinery material cost databases, supplier rate cards, and production cost benchmarks.
• Conduct site surveys to verify dimensions and existing conditions for tendering purposes.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.
• 5+ years of joinery and/or fit-out estimation experience in UAE/GCC.
• Strong knowledge of joinery materials, hardware systems, surface finishes, and UAE market pricing.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for quantity takeoff and drawing interpretation.
• Proficiency in CostX, Candy, or advanced MS Excel for estimation and BOQ preparation.
• Commercially astute with strong numerical accuracy and ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Good understanding of UAE fit-out contract types and joinery subcontract procurement processes
